Police K9 Trainer Course

This 24-week course is designed to prepare the student with no prior law enforcement training or experience for the role of a professional Police K9 Trainer. The course provides the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills necessary to become a trainer of police dogs and police dog handlers.

Each student has the opportunity to work with a large number and variety of dogs in various police training disciplines. The exposure to a large variety of dog temperaments and dispositions prepares the student for testing, selecting, and training of police work dogs.

Additional course focus is on developing instructor skills necessary for the training of police dog handlers. The overall training syllabus emphasis is on developing skills necessary to train and prepare a police dog team for effective K9 team deployments.
